KilgoreCriminal Justice Advisory Board Planner/Grant Coordinatorckilgore@lebcnty.org Phone: (717) 273 – 1557 ext. 143Fax: (717) 273 – 9378 Departmental Presentations To facilitate a greater understanding among criminal justice related departments and agencies within Lebanon County, at each Criminal Justice Advisory Board Meeting the department of a Core Member (for definition, please see the Members Page) is asked to give a brief lecture including information on: 1) What it’s like for the department to conduct business on a regular basis, 2) What the department’s major responsibilities are, 3) Problems the department faces on a regular basis (i.e. too much paperwork and not enough time one-on-one with clients, etc.), 4) How long it generally takes the department – whether because of requirements from the state or because of other “checks-and-balances” – to complete its major tasks, and 5) How other agencies in the county work in cooperation with the department to allow it to smoothly function. It is hoped that through these presentations the agencies involved in the criminal justice system in Lebanon County will examine common issues of concern and thus encourage discussion about these topics during the Criminal Justice Advisory Board meetings. It is one thing to believe a person understands the inner-workings of a department and quite another to have what it actually does communicated first-hand.
