Senior Community Centers –Tentative Re-Opening Date -9/8/20
Four of our five senior centers: Annville/N. Lebanon, Maple Street, & Myerstown will tentatively re-open Tuesday, 9/8/20.
However, due to renovations, Palmyra will re-open at a date to be determined (TBD).
Check back for future updates.
The senior centers are getting ready to re-open. The centers are all under the auspices of the Lebanon County Area Agency on Aging and will have the same policies/guidelines to follow when they re-open. However, each center has it’s own room capacities they will need to enforce.
All centers will have one entrance door for the public/participants. Social distancing and face masks will be required. Face masks may be removed ONLY when sitting at a table eating a meal. Health screening and temperatures will be completed on each person each day before entering the center. Participants will be required to sign an acknowledgement form before participating in any program at each center. If you attend more than one center, a form must be signed at each of the centers.
Each center’s rooms & programs will have a maximum person occupancy/capacity. Once the limit is reached, additional participants will not be allowed to enter the room(s). Maximum occupancy limits will be posted outside each room. Meals may also be ordered for dine- in or take –out.
Re-opening following these guidelines will be new for all of us & it will take some time to adjust. Please be patient with our center managers & volunteers in this “new normal”.
Centers will schedule orientation-BY APPOINTMENT ONLY- for volunteers the week prior to re- opening. This will be to review all the changes put in place. Check the schedule for each center as they have different days/times set up. Call the center you wish to attend for the specific day/time.
All of the centers will need volunteer assistance implementing some of the new procedures in place. New tasks are inclusive of health screenings, disinfecting surfaces/supplies and helping to maintain the new regulations from the Pennsylvania Department of Aging.
All centers open Monday through Friday. This is subject to change depending on bus trips or other events. Check the individual center's page for changes.
Various programs and activities such as bus trips, movies, exercise classes, games, crafts, and holiday parties are offered on a regular basis.
Access to agency services including Pharmaceutical Assistance (PACE) applications, rent and tax rebates, and fuel assistance are provided.
Hot nutritious meals are served at all centers. However, since the center's are closed, meals are not being served until further notice.
Persons must be 60 years of age or older to be eligible to participate.
Transportation is available daily for registered riders to all of the centers via Lebanon Transit (LT) van services. Reservations for transportation can be made by calling before 2pm the day before.
